Our History Highlights
1921

Rev. Michael Mueller, first Camillian in the USA.

Fr. Michael Mueller arrives in New York on September 17th, 1921.
1923

First activities of the Order in the United States.

The first community is established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
1932

The Order expands and grows to provide services.

Camillians open St. Camillus Hospital in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
1986

Independent Living expansion complete.

Opening of San Camillo Retirement Facility with 200 apartments for the elderly in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
2021

The USA Delegation celebrates 100 years.

The 100 Year Anniversary of the Camillians in the USA was celebrated with a year of special events.
2022

Independent Living expansion completed.

The East Residence expansion opens after a 3 year long construction project offering 168 Independent Living apartments.
